THE AMOURÈ DIAMOND GUIDE

A little science.
A lot of wonder.

Get to know the diamond behind the sparkle.
A few clear answers, before you choose.

Begin with the basics

01 / THE ORIGIN

A real diamond.
A different beginning.

Lab-grown diamonds are diamonds. They share the carbon crystal structure and essentially the same chemical, physical and optical properties as natural diamonds. Their origin is different: a controlled growth process instead of formation within the Earth.

That origin can be identified by specialist gemological testing. Appearance alone does not reliably tell the whole story.

TWO WAYS TO GROW

Small beginnings.
Remarkable possibilities.

HPHT

High Pressure, High Temperature

Carbon crystallises under intense pressure and heat. This process recreates key conditions involved in natural diamond formation.

CVD

Chemical Vapour Deposition

Carbon from a gas builds onto a diamond seed, growing the crystal layer by layer in a controlled chamber.

Both methods produce diamonds. The individual stone, its characteristics and its report deserve a closer look.

02 / THE DETAILS

Four Cs.
Your own priorities.

A useful language for understanding a diamond. Start here, then look at the whole stone.

Cut

How the facets, proportions and finish work with light. Cut quality is different from a diamond’s shape.

Colour

For colourless to near-colourless diamonds, the degree of colour present. Consider the appearance you enjoy.

Clarity

The presence of internal inclusions and surface blemishes. Ask what they mean for the particular stone.

Carat

A measure of weight, rather than visible size. Shape and proportions also influence how a diamond looks.

03 / A CLEAR DISTINCTION

Know what

A similar appearance does not make materials the same. Choose with the identity clearly disclosed.

04 / ASK TO SEE THE REPORT

Confidence is
in the details.

Ask for the independent laboratory report for your chosen diamond, and discuss its identification, measurements and assessment with the jeweller. Reporting formats differ between laboratories.

GIA currently uses Premium and Standard overall assessments for eligible colourless to near-colourless lab-grown diamonds. Read the document that accompanies the actual stone.

GOOD QUESTIONS. CLEAR ANSWERS.

A little more clarity.

Is a lab-grown diamond the same as moissanite?

No. A lab-grown diamond is diamond; moissanite is a different material. Both may be used in jewellery, so the stone’s identity should be stated clearly.

How do I choose the right piece for me?

Start with how you want to wear it. Explore rings, earrings and pendants, consider the shape and setting, and ask about fit and comfort. Bring a shortlist of favourites to your conversation with us.

What does “Conscious Diamonds” mean to Amourè?

It is our invitation to learn, ask questions and choose thoughtfully. We focus on helping you understand the design and diamond you are considering.

Can I enquire about a design shown here?

Yes. Choose “Enquire for cost” on a design to start a conversation. The images are CAD visualisations; our team can discuss the final stone, metal, size, availability and quote.

Can I visit Amourè in person?

Find us at Platinum Towers on GMS Road in Dehradun. See the map, opening hours and directions, or chat with us before your visit.
